PARKING TIME LIMITS INTRODUCED THROUGHOUT FYSHWICK
Many Fyshwick businesses are surprised and annoyed by the ACT Government's decision to erect 30 minute and 2 hour parking zones through Fyshwick, including placement in streets where there is very little or no retail trading, such as Tennant Street.
This move has led to many businesses sending emails to TAMS requesting the removal of the time limits, as they are impacting on full time workers, not shoppers.
Fyshwick as a shopping precinct is a very different beast compared to other Canberra shopping areas, due to the spread of the suburb.
It is impossible for anyone who wishes to shop across Fyshwick to leave their car in one location for over two hours, and walk.
The exception is of course DFO, who has ample parking for their customers and so, is not affected by this decision.
